Solution for Raising Curt Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier

Hi there I recently took a travel and I attached a Curt 24X60 cargo carrier but I noticed is very low. Which of your products do you recommend to raise it and maintain the weight capacity of the tongue. Iam contemplating to buy one of the blue ox products but I need your advice. Thank you so much.

The best solution to raise your Curt hitch-mounted cargo carrier further above the ground is with an adapter like the Curt # D-192. This provides you with a top 2 inch receiver that sits 3-1/4 inches above the hitch on your vehicle. As you referenced in your question, using an adapter like this will reduce the tongue weight capacity of your trailer hitch by 50 percent. For example if your hitch has a tongue weight capacity of 300 pounds this will be reduced to 150 pounds when using the adapter. You will just want to make sure you stay below the reduced limit with the combined weight of your carrier and loaded cargo.

I have attached a short video demonstration that you can also check out.

We do not offer a solution to raise your carrier that won't reduce the hitch capacity in this manner. High-Low Adapters are really only designed for flat towing a vehicle but if they were to be used for an accessory like your cargo carrier it would still reduce the hitch's tongue weight capacity.
