Troubleshooting Right Side Running Lights Not Working on 1989 Travel Trailer
Question:
Right rear running light is not working. But blinker, brake is. The left light is working totally normal and fully functioning. Today we changed the bulb, sanded the ground in the right rear of the trailer, checked all connections on the 7 way connector, and redid the main ground. Still not working. My best guest is the wire is spliced somewhere? But I couldn’t find it. When checking the 7 way pin only one brown and one green exsisted, but there are clearly two at the back of the trailer. Any ideas where a spliced wire would be located? 1989 travel trailer. Checked all fuses too, all good

Expert Reply:
If the left side of your lighting is working normally and your grounds on the right side look good then that means that the wire somewhere on the right side of your 1989 travel trailer is damaged or bent.
Sometimes a splice will be pretty close to any lights on that circuit but this isn't always the case. Your best best is to follow the wiring from your 7-Way to the lights or vice versa. If you find any pieces damaged go ahead and replace them with 16 Gauge Wire # 16-1-1 and Butt Connectors # DW05744-5.
