Parts Needed for Dinghy Flat/Recreational Towing a 2015 Subaru Forester
Question:
What equipment would you recommend to flat tow a 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i with 6-Speed manual transmission behind a 2012 Winnebago View MB Sprinter? Any other considerations or suggestions would be appreciated.

A complete flat towing setup requires a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter.
For your 2015 Subaru Forester I recommend going with the Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate Kit # RM-52923-4. This pairs very nicely with the Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520 and Safety Cables # RM-643 which are both rated for 6,000 lbs.
The for wiring I recommend the Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. From what I could gather in the online version of your owner's manual it looked like you had to keep your key in the ACC position. Since this will drain your battery I also recommend installing the Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 which will install on the center pin of the 6-Way socket.
The best braking system for RV's with air brakes like your Winnebago is the Air Force One # SM99243. It doesn't cause false braking when the motorhome's brake lights come on while using the exhaust brake like a lot of systems do. To ensure that your lights work properly on your Forester you will also need to install the Relay Kit # RM-88400.
Most flat towing setups require a high-low adapter for the tow bar to remain level while towing. I have linked our selection of adapters for you to check out as well as an article that will help you determine which is the best one for your application.
Attached are some helpful videos and articles but you also need to be sure to check your owner's manual for any specific instructions when it comes to flat towing.
