Towing Trailers with a 4-Way and a 7-Way Connector with a 2018 Ford F-150

My truck came with teh 7 connector in back. i have a trailer with a 7 and another with a 4. can i have both on the truck or do i need to use an adapter?

You can use an adapter, like the Pollak # PK12716, and it's a cost-effective option but certainly not the most convenient. You have to change the adapter everytime you change trailers.

A better long term solution is to change out your current 7-way for one that has both 4- and 7-way connectors, like part # HM40975. If you unplug the 7-way you have there should be a wiring harness with a plug that looks like what's in the picture I attached. The Hopkins # HM40975 will plug right into that same harness. Then you just need to mount the connector on your truck using the included bracket and hardware.
