Question:
I was reading that my 2016 HRV has a zero pound towing capacity. Is that true or could I use this hitch to pull a trailer/jetski?

We've found that there are a lot of vehicles out there that aren't rated for towing by their manufacturer yet people choose to ignore that at their own risk and do so anyway. We offer hitches for vehicles in situations like this since there is a demand for them like for your 2016 Honda HR-V. The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 306-X7322 is a confirmed fit for your vehicle and would most likely be okay to tow a very light weight jet ski trailer but we can't speak for Honda. I attached an install video link to this page for you to check out as well.
For trailer wiring then we have the T-One kit part # 118673 which is our most reliable option and is a confirmed fit for your vehicle.
You will also need a ball mount, ball, and pin and clip. For these I recommend the Curt Class III Drawbar - 2" Rise - 4" Drop - 13" Long - 7,500 lbs # C45270, 2" hitch ball # 40038, and either the standard pin and clip # C21500 or the locking # e98880.
