How to Install Draw-Tite Hitch Part # 76182 on 2017 Subaru Forester Touring with Reverse Sensors
Question:
Is the installation of this hitch the same for 2017 2.5i Forester Touring? Since this vehicle model has the rear bumper sensors will cutting into the fascia damage the sensors?

The installation process for installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76182 on a 2017 Subaru Forester Touring with the reverse sensors in the bumper will be almost exactly the same as installing the trailer hitch on a 2017 Subaru Forester without the reverse sensors in the bumper. The only thing you need to do differently is remove the wires from the back of the sensors before removing the rear fascia and then plugging them back in while reinstalling the rear fascia.
The small portion of the heat shield and lower fascia that must be trimmed will not affect the reverse sensors in any way. For the exception of the above steps, the attached install video goes over pretty much everything you need to do to install this hitch on your Forester.
