Question:
Can I safely go with this hitch instead of the weight distribution type hitch with bars that I currently use for towing my 6500 lb. dual axle travel trailer? 2016 Ram 1500.

The Weigh Safe 2-Ball Mount # WS6-25 that you referenced has a 18,500 lb towing weight for the 2-5/16" hitch ball and an 8,000 lbs towing weight for the 2" hitch ball. Both options have a 2,200 lb tongue weight so you should be good as far as the weight goes if 6,500 lbs is your max weight.
We do recommend using a weight distribution system for any loaded trailers that weigh at least half the weight of the towing vehicle though. Since your 2016 Ram 1500 has a curb weight between 4,500 lbs - 5,600 lbs I recommend sticking with your weight distribution system.
If you are looking for a simple way to tell how much tongue weight your trailer has then you can use the Sherline Trailer Tongue Weight Scale # 5780. This can handle tongue weight up to 2,000 lbs and weighs under 5 lbs so it is extremely portable. Attached is a review video of this scale for you to reference.
