Recommendation for Maximum Towing Capacity of 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I like the look of the drawtite hitch for my 2018 grand cherokee diesel. I just want to make sure its the right hitch to get the most capacity.

From my research the diesel engine of the 2018 Grand Cherokee has a maximum towing capacity of 7,200 pounds for the 4-wheel drive or 7,400 pounds for the 2-wheel drive. I'm guessing you know this and also noticed that the Draw-Tite hitch we carry, part # 75713, maxes out at 6,000 pounds unless you're using a weight distribution system. Adding a weight distribution system is the way to maximize the capacity of your Jeep.

If you can give me the specs on your trailer I can help you choose a weight distribution system. You need to find the trailer's loaded tongue weight and add in any weight you have stored behind the rear axle of the Jeep. You want that figure to fall right within the range of the system you choose.
