Is Trimming Required to Install a Trailer Hitch on a 2018 Audi Q7

Question:

I brought this and now my garage wont install it and says they have to cut the inner bumper lining to do it and dont want the liability. Is this the right parts for my car and who will install it correctly around me?

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13277 is indeed correct for your 2018 Audi Q7. If you take a look at the attached photo, you can see the portion of the rear bumper fascia that must be trimmed in order to allow for clearance of the receiver tube. You can also see the portion of the rear bumper fascia that must be trimmed for the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76076 which is the only other trailer hitch receiver listed as a fit for your 2018 Audi Q7. It requires a smaller hole but that is rather beside the point now but something you might want to consider in the future.

Unfortunately, we don't have a list of recommended installers for the products we offer outside of our location here in Missouri. There are some shops that will install the trailer hitch for you no problem and there are others that will be reluctant to cut into the bumper on an expensive vehicle like your Audi Q7. I would call around to some of the performance shops in your area as they will feel more comfortable working on a higher end vehicle and will most likely have experience trimming rear bumpers for aftermarket parts.
