Weight Distribution System for 2008 Ford F-250 Towing 12,000 lb

My truck has a 2 inch square hole receiver with a 12,500 towing capacity. Ive ordered the Bulletproof 2.5 inch hitch with 3,000lbs tongue weight and 22,000lbs towing capacity. If I use the reducer sleeve will I be able to tow a trailer 10,000lbs? Its a concession trailer, a so fully loaded may be closer to 12,000lbs. The actual tongue weight of the trailer will be 1,500lbs. Also, do I need a weight distribution system and sway control bars?

Hitch reducers like the Reese Titan sleeve part # 58102 that you referenced do not reduce the weight capacity of the hitch they are installed in. The only type of hitch size adapter that does reduce capacity are ones that go from a smaller size to a bigger size.

You're going to be pretty close to the capacity of your truck so a weight distribution system would be a very good idea. For a weight distribution system rated well for 1,500 lbs of tongue weight the Reese part # RP66075. This has a tongue weight range of 1,100 lb to 1,700 lb which would work well for you. For a shank you'd want the part # RP54970 and the hitch ball # 63836.
