Question:
Im attempting to add a 5 prong trailer connector for hydraulic brakes with back up light wire splice kit 47515. Ive found the black wire with 2 silver marks at the light and also on the plug for the 4 pin trailer relay device, but when using volt tester to ground, this does not light up in either location. how do I close this circuit?

For your Adapter 4-Pole to 5-Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter - Shorter # 47515 you will connect the blue wire to your reverse light power at the tail light. Use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to find the power wire that only comes on when the vehicle is shifted in reverse. Don't trust wire color, just follow functions. Test all your 4-way functions as well to ensure everything is working correctly. If not, use the circuit tester to trace the wires.
On the trailer side, that pin location should have a wire that leads to the reverse lockout solenoid on your hydraulic coupler and the other wire coming out of that solenoid should be sent to ground at a bare metal to metal location on the frame like you see in the attached video of the Demco # DM11993.
