When determining what load capacity you need to have for each of the tires on your trailer you just need to make sure that the combined capacity for all 4 tires exceeds the weight of your trailer. If your trailer weighs 4 tons (8,000 pounds) then each tire should have an individual load capacity of at least 2,000 pounds.

For example the Kenda Karrier ST235/85R16 Radial Tire # AM10501 that you were looking at features a maximum load of 3,960 pounds at 110 psi. This would be more than enough for your trailer and would give you a combined load capacity of 15,840 pounds. It is always a good idea to have a healthy safety margin but this type of load rating might be a tad overrated for your trailer and could cause a rough ride.

If you can tell me what tire size you currently have mounted on the trailer I will be happy to recommend one that will work perfectly as a replacement. I have also attached a couple articles on trailer tires that you might find helpful.
