2018 F-350 long bed without the factory prep. Looking at the USA-made Curt hitches A20 and Q20. I know I need install kit C16428-204. But what makes one of these hitches the better choice than the other?

You are correct that you will use the Curt installation kit # C16428-204 in your 2018 Ford F-350 to install either the Curt A20 5th wheel hitch # C16140 or the Q20 model # C16130. Both of these USA-made hitches share a 20,000-lb tow rating but they differ in that the Q20's built-in cushioning makes is unsuitable for use with rotating pin boxes, such as the Reese Sidewinder, Reese Revolution, and 5th Airborne Sidewinder. For a trailer with one of these pivoting pin boxes the A20 is the better choice.
