Dual Hitch Adapter for Flat Towing and Bike Rack

Question:

I have a 2007 Fleetwood Discovery DP towing a 5,000# 2014 Ford Explorer. With the MH loaded and the air suspension filled, the distance from the ground to the center of the hitch is 20.0 The distance from the ground to the center of the tow bar attachments on the Ford is 19.25 I am looking for a dual hitch adapter so that I can attach my tow bar to the lower fitting and a bike rack to the upper. I would like to have the lower fitting at the same level as the existing hitch height. In other words I dont want an adapter that has the hitches above and below the center-line of the existing hitch. What do you have that will satisfy this need? That is, towing capacity and no drop on the lower fitting. Thank You.

There is a dual hitch receiver adapter that will work for what you are looking to do but there is not one with a 3/4 inch drop to make the lower receiver the same level as the height on your motorhome's hitch like you were wanting.

That's okay because you only need to be within three inches from level to safely tow, and the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter for Tow Bars - 2-1/4" Rise/Drop # RM-077-2 will have you 1-1/2 inches below level, which is well within the safe zone (see accompanying photo) and allow you to use a bike rack and tow your Ford Explorer.

So even though it is not the exact specification you are looking for, the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Adapter # RM-077-2 will work; I have added a link to a video review of this adapter for you to check out as well.

This adapter does not come with a pin and clip or lock so I recommend adding Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # e98880.
