Where is the Brake Controller Port on a 2005 Dodge Dakota
Question:
I have a 2005 dodge dakota. I am fairly certain that the truck has the factory towing package, as it has a 7-way port on the bumper, stamped with Chrystler. Does this mean that the truck has the tow package. If so, where do I find the brake controller port for the wiring harness?

If your 2005 Dodge Dakota came with the factory 7-way trailer connector then it has the factory tow package and you should have the brake controller plug-in port which can be found underneath the dash and left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal. There will be a 4-pin connector that mates with the one on the adapter.
If you do not already have a brake controller then I recommend using the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller part # TK90160 with the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3020-P. I recommend the Primus IQ because it has integrated safeguards that will protect the vehicle wiring in the event of a short and it runs continuous diagnostics which will alert you to any potential issues.
I have attached a review video for you as well.
