Recommended E-Bike Rack for Casita Fiberglass Travel Trailer with Hitch Rated for 200 lbs

Question:

I spoke to one of your staff and she recommended the 174850P2 Swagman Escapee 2 bike platform...for our Casita 17 ft camper. After watching one of the videos I am concerned that the bar that attaches to the front tire will compromise the loading of the bikes. One of my bikes is an e-bike and the other is a road bike, both with fenders...just curious if the bar attachment can be attached to the front tire in front of the fender...just don't want to have to take my fenders off each time we travel...will it work as stated or do I have any other options?

The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2-Electric Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches # HLY84FR will work well for the bikes and weights you listed but it is not rated for use on the back of a travel trailer. For a rack that is compatible with your weights and travel trailer I recommend the Swagman E-Spec 2 Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # S94FR. This bike rack is e-bike compatible with bikes up to 70 lbs each. The rack comes with the locks needed and is 60 lbs.

With bikes that have fenders, the Swagman Escapee 2 Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # S64693 is not ideal. Your concern about removing the fenders or possibly damaging them is valid. The issue is there is not an ideal bike rack for your 50 lb e-bike on the back of your travel trailer and the Swagman Escapee is the only option rated for the weight of your e-bike if that includes the battery. The next closest option is the Swagman Dispatch 2 Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # S44FR which is rated for travel trailer use and uses frame hooks that won't impact your fenders. The only thing to consider is this rack is rated for 45 lbs max per bike. If your 50 lb bike weight is able to be reduced by removing the battery, then this would by far be the better option for you.
