Does Underbody Panel Need to be Removed to Install EcoHitch on a 2017 Ford Fusion

Other hitches say that certain panels have to be permanently removed. Do any panels have to be removed for this hitch? Which ones?

If you were to install the EcoHitch # 306-X7239 on your 2017 Ford Fusion then you would have to permanently remove the plastic underbody panel as you can see from the attached photo which is directly from the instructions.

I have also attached a photo of how the trailer hitch looks after the installation. Removing the panel actually doesn't subtract from the look of your vehicle at all. I recommend using this trailer hitch simply because it has a 2" receiver that allows you to utilize a wider range of accessories than if you were to install a trailer hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver.
