Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch and Install Kit for a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Classic

What part # for my truck for this hitch and which custom installation kit would I use? Thanks

There are custom kits and universal kits available for the 2007 Chevy 2500 HD short bed Classic model. The difference is that the custom kits install in about half the time over the universal kit and there is less drilling involved. Based on this I would go with a custom kit.
For your truck, the correct custom installation kit is # RP50064-58. I have included a link to the installation details and a link to a video showign a typical installation.
For a hitch, since you have a short bed, you will want a slider that will provide more clearance so you can safely make 90 degree turns. I would go with the Curt Q20, # C16536. This is one of the most popular hitches .
