Comparing Reese 16K 5th Wheel Slider Hitches for 2018 Ram 2500

I am looking at a couple of Reese sliding 5th wheel hitches for my 2018 Ram 2500 with a short bed. I know they will work with the same base rails but can you tell me the differences between the RP30075 and RP30051?

The biggest difference between the two fifth wheel hitches you mentioned is the type of slider they use.

The Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30051 uses a square tube slider while the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30075 has a round tube slider. While the square tube slider is certainly functional, the round tube slider will deter binding more effectively and give you a smoother ride, which is why I recommend this fifth wheel hitch for your 2018 Ram 2500.

The round tube slider of the Reese # RP30075 will also give you 11 inches of travel, which is 1 inch more than the square tube hitch gives you so your turning radius will be slightly less restrictive. Apart from that both of these Reese fifth wheel hitches feature the same dual-jaw locking system for tight security with your trailer's king pin, as well as a pivoting head to make hooking up your trailer easier and have 16,000 lb capacities.

To mount the fifth wheel hitch in your '18 Ram 2500 I strongly recommend the Reese Quick-Install Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails # RP50054-58 because these will not require any drilling into your Ram's frame to install, unlike universal kits. Not only is this good for your truck but it also simplifies the installation and cuts down on how long it takes to install.

I have attached video reviews of both Reese hitches for you to take a look at as well as a link to the base rail kit being installed on a Ram 2500 for you to check out.
