Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Only Works With Manual Override
Question:
Prodegy was working fine for six months. Now when I put on the brake peddle the trailer brakes don’t work regardless how high I turn up the controls. But if I use the manual lever the brakes work fine. I have a .c. On the control when parked and no brake When I push the brake peddle the digital read out remains at c. But manual brake lever the numbers show up. What should I check? Connection to the brake wires seem solid. Truck is 1993 F 350.

The issue you described with the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885 points to a problem with the connection point for the stop light switch which is the red wire coming from the back of the brake controller. This wire tells the brake controller when the brake pedal is pressed so it can then send a signal to the brakes. It would not affect the manual override feature. Therefore, I recommend checking the red wire that leads from the red wire on the controller to the stop light switch.
