Question:
Looking at this item to replace a 5 lug hub on a 1969 trailer. I havent measured with calipers, but with a tape measure the dimensions are real close. Im trying to change the 5 lug to a 6 on 5.5 because I have 2 sets of tires and wheels I can run. Trying to make sure that the spindle is actually a #84. Do you know how I can make sure?

In order to verify the spindle dimensions so that you can pick out the correct hub/drum you have to get exact dimensions. For that you need to use a digital caliper like part # PTW80157. For how old your trailer is this is especially important as the standard spindles sizes have changed since 1969.
An 84 spindle would measure 1.06 where the outer bearing rides, 1.38 where the inner bearing rides, and 1.73 where the seal rides. For a hub with a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern that would fit an 84 spindle you'd need the part # AKHD-655-35-EZ-K.
