Question:
I noticed in the product description for the MAL53FR trailer that the wheels which come standard on it are 8inch High-speed, 5-Lug, galvanized steel wheels have DOT-approved tires. Is it possible to upgrade to 13inch or 14inch wheels and tires? Should I purchase one of these trailers, it has to travel at least 6,000 miles/year on interstate highways. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Malone's EcoLight Trailer # MAL53FR is configured with 8-inch wheels and tires, size 4.80/4.00-8, which are 16-inches in overall diameter. These tires and the trailer itself are rated for highway driving up to 70-mph with the trailer loaded to its full capacity of 275-lbs. Towing a trailer at higher speeds than this is not recommended.
Tires in 13-inch size ST175/80-13, like # AM31994, are 50% larger, 24-inches overall diameter, and would not fit on this trailer.
