Hitch and Cargo Carrier Recommendation for 2017 Dodge Ram with Bumper Ballmount
Question:
I have a 2017 Dodge Ram. The only hook-up is a ball mount no ball was included. I wanted to attach a cargo carrier but there is no receiver hitch on my truck. How would I hook up a cargo carrier with only a ball mount on my truck and now hitch to connect the cargo carrier to. Hope I explained that clearly. Thanks!

I took a look at your photos and the bumper does have a ball mount in it on your 2017 Dodge Ram. The bumper was designed to accept a ball but cargo carriers do require a hitch receiver opening to install. The only way to use a cargo carrier on the truck is to install a hitch.
I recommend the etrailer.com hitch part # E98852 because it uses the ball mount in the bumper to install. The hardware comes with a large bolt to install through the ball mount cylinder hole and into the top of the hitch and secures with a nut. I have attached an installation video for your reference. After you install the E98852 you now have a 2 inch hitch receiver opening to accept a cargo carrier.
I recommend 20x59 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches part # C18151. The Curt Cargo Carrier is designed with a usable space of 57-1/2" long by 19-13/16" wide and 5-5/8" deep. The best feature of this cargo carrier is it folds up when not in use. I have attached a video for your reference.
I recommend to protect your investments with an anti-rattle lock part # 63232.
