Replacement 7-Way Harness for 2004 Ford F-350
Question:
I currently have the 7 pin harness for my 04 F350 with a build date of 6/04. It is acting up and causing my brake controller to think i am hooked up. I have looked and seen where the plug goes to a round plug then from that round plug it goes to the square one up by the spare tire. Can i just buy the one 7pin that goes straight to the square plug up by the spare tire? Part number from Ford is 2C3Z13A576DA. I see you sell part number 118243. This should be fine correct? I dont need a 4 pin connecter for a trailer.

It sounds like you have the factory 7-way and while there is a replacement wiring harness available the part you mentioned, the Ford Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness # 118243, is not a fit for your 2004 Ford F-350. This harness is only a fit for F-250 and F-350's from 1999 to 2001 that have a factory 4-way.
Instead you will need the Reese Multi-Plug Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package # 74682 which does have a round plug and fits an' 04 Ford F-350 so long as you have the factory 7-way.
While this does have a 4-way on it you can simply cut it off and tie off the wires if you like.
