Will Installing a Trailer Wiring Harness On a 2017 Cadillac XT5 Void the Warranty

dealer claims installing a electrical outlet for the after mkt hitch they installed on my 2017 XT5 luxury will void warranty. Do these cars come with a plug around the the hitch area to install adapter?

Yes, there is a port on the back of your 2017 Cadillac XT5 that will be used for a trailer wiring harness. This port is located behind the lower bumper cover access panel which you can see in the attached photo. Once you find the plug I then recommend using the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118720 in order to provide a 4-way trailer connector. The manufacturer of the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness is Tekonsha who has the most reliable wiring harness on the market which is why this is the one I recommend for you. I have attached an install video for you as well in addition to the photo.
The manufacturer cannot void the warranty of your vehicle solely because you installed a trailer connector. That would be a violation of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act which in short prohibits the manufacturer from voiding the warranty based on the sole installation of an aftermarket component.
