I looked up what the GM trailer towing package includes for your 2019 Chevy Traverse and it gives you a hitch that installs through the rear bumper panel of the vehicle (just like our Draw Tite part # 76184), and a 7-way trailer wiring connector just like our # 118287 at a much better price as I was able to compare the prices too! In my opinion it makes more sense to go with the towing products we offer as it's the (if not better), quality a much better price.

I attached a picture of what our hitch and wiring will look like when installed on a Traverse just like yours. The bumper cover can go back over the hitch and wiring when not in use too which is nice.

If you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.

If the ball mount kit does not include a ball mount with the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, check out the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.

Bought a new 2019 Traverse. When I asked the salesman what the towing capacity without the OEM package he replied 3500. That works for me. However, later found out that the towing capacity is 1500# without package. Bad on me for not doing homework. If I install your hitch, wiring harness and transmission cooler would it be advisable to tow up to 3500#?

Unfortunately the towing capacity for your Traverse will always be 1,500 pounds in the eyes of GM. You can add aftermarket components like a higher-rated hitch and transmission cooler to help it better support this weight, but you'll always be limited by that number. In reality you may be increasing the capacity by adding those components - but if anything were to happen it wouldn't be covered under warranty since you're technically exceeding the factory limits of the truck. I know this isn't the best news to hear.
