Thule Hitching Post Pro Adapter Bar and Locks for Women's and Children's Bikes

I am interested in the subject bike rack. But need to know what device I would need to support a womans bike? I have heard there is a special post that is required. What is needed and how much does it cost? Please help!

The Thule Hitching Post Pro part # TH934XTR is a great choice with a lot of great reviews from our customers. Most women's bike frames do not have a horizontal cross tube to hang the bike from on the bike rack . An adapter bar clamps to bike's seat post and the other end clamps to handlebar stem post and creates a horizontal attachment point on the frame.

If your frames do not include a horizontal cross tube already, I recommend Hollywood Racks adapter bar part # HRBA-PRO because of it's adjustability and price point. It adjusts from 15 to 28 inches long to fit a variety of bike frames including small children's bikes. It also costs less than most of the adapter bars we offer. I have attached a video for your reference.

Since the Hitching Post Pro does not include locks I recommend Thule's Snug Tite Lock and Anti-rattle part # THSTL2. It is a locking pin that allows you to lock the bike rack to your hitch. The anti-rattle design of the lock tightens up the space between the bike rack shank and the hitch receiver and eliminates rattle.

I recommend Master Lock Python Cable Lock part # 8419DPF to lock the bikes to the rack because of its adjustability. The locking mechanism slides on the cable so it allows you to tighten the cable around the bikes compared to other cables that allow for slack if you are carrying smaller bikes.
