The audible warning alarm included with the Hopkins Backup Sensor System # HM60100VA is loud enough that you can install it at the rear of the vehicle's interior. So long as the alarm has a reasonably direct path to your ears you will not have trouble hearing its unique beeping sound. Also, when you're backing up you'll know to listen for the alarm anyway. If it were placed further up front it could be startling to passengers.
