Upgrading a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder with 4-Way Trailer Connector to Tow a Trailer with Brakes
Question:
What do I need parts to be able to connect a travel trailer with electric brake and 7 pin connecter to my 2017 pathfinder. I don’t have factory tow package but I have installed a tow hitch and 4pin wire plug in the car. I used the kit that I bought from your company and it plugged right in to the brake lights.

You're already off to a great start with the Draw-Tite hitch, part # 76031, and Tekonsha 4-way wiring harness, part # 118670, you already have on your 2017 Nissan Pathfinder.
You're going to unplug the 4-way and instead use the replacement 7-way, part # 118267. The jumper harness with the relays that you installed before from the 4-way will stay in place and still be used by the new 7-way.
Then you need a brake controller for the trailer's brakes. I recommend the Curt Echo, part # C51180. Nothing is needed inside your Pathfinder you just plug the Echo into your new 7-way and pair it with your smartphone.
