Installing Lend-a-Hand Folding Grab Handle on Aliner Ranger 10 without Door Studs

Question:

I am very interested in this collapsible handrail, but my concern is the possibility of installing it on a 2019 Aliner Ranger 10 fold-down hard-walled camping trailer. Based on its A-frame construction, I think Id have to drill through the sidewall and use long bolts with back-up plates on the inside of the camper. Attached are photos showing the camper opened and folded down. The door opens to the left towards the wall AC unit. Your product description mentions using long bolts with washers or a plate sold separately if a door stud cannot be found. How long are those bolts and how would I order this extra kit? Thanks

The Lend-a-Hand Folding Grab Handle # AM-200 referenced in your question is a really nice solution for your Aliner Ranger 10 as long as there is enough mounting space above (or below) the line where the camper folds down. The rail features an overall height of 24 inches (outside to outside).

As you mentioned since you will likely need to drill through the sidewall to install the unit you will need to obtain longer bolts and a backing plate. These components can just be found at a local hardware store as the length of the bolts needed will be dependent on the camper's wall thickness. We do not have a kit available that includes longer bolts and a backing plate or washers.

I have attached a short video demonstration on this product that you can also take a look at.
