Question:
I have an older demco double pivot 5th wheel hitch these rails will fit that hitch but, if I upgrade to a Curt or Reese hitch in the future with these rails also fit industry standard hitches? I see the slits are wider and the whole is oblong.

The Replacement Rails for Demco Hijacker 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Older Models # DM6014 will give you base rails that are not industry standard, meaning they would not be compatible with a Reese, Curt, or other model of fifth wheel hitch.
These hitches mount 22” front to back and either 20-5/8” or 29” wide and will require industry-standard rails in your 2003 Dodge Ram.
For example, if you wanted to use the Curt A16 # C16120 fifth wheel hitch you would need to use Fifth Wheel Installation Kit # C16303-200 if your '03 Ram was a 1500 or Fifth Wheel Installation Kit # C16301-200 if your Ram was a 2500 or 3500.
These kits give you brackets and industry-standard base rails to use a newer style of fifth wheel hitch.
