In order to carry a canoe and or kayak on your 2019 Ram 1500 I recommend placing them on a roof rack with a roof mounted carrier as you don't really have any other options when towing a trailer. For a roof rack, I recommend the Yakima CoreBar Crossbar System which is composed of part # Y00423, part # Y28TR, and part # Y06135. This system has aero shaped cross bars for reduced wind noise and a sleek look.
In order to secure a canoe and or kayak to the above roof rack, I recommend using the etrailer.com J-Style Kayak Carrier part # E98878 for the kayak and the Yakima KeelOver Rooftop Canoe Carrier with Tie-Downs part # Y04069 for the canoe. These two systems are easy to use and lightweight so you can preserve as much weight as possible.
I will say that if either your kayak or canoe is particularly heavy/long, say over 80 lbs or 12' long then you may also want to consider a load extender like the Yakima LongArm Bed and Roof Load Extender for 2" Hitches part # Y01149-1150. This will increase the weight capacity of your setup and will allow for more stability for kayaks or canoes longer than 12'. It will also help with loading. In order to use the Yakima LongArm on your 2019 Ram 1500 you will also need the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C87FR.
