Best Fifth Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter for 2010 Fuzion Toy Hauler

Question:

I recently purchased a 2010 Fuzion Toy hauler36 feet, and my tow vehicle is a 2012 Chevy Duramax one ton with a flatbed and I have been studying about hitches. At first I was ready to go with the curt’s single jaw 5th wheel hitch. Then heard about the gooseneck adapter. I was reading about the Anderson Ranch hand and the cupped head for ease of hooking up, then I switched to the Convert A Ball from your comments, since I have a recessed ball. On your comments about the convert a ball you said the gooseneck adaptor can be hard on the frame and would not haul as smoothly. Currently I am towing a 18 foot aluminum gooseneck horse trailer. The convenience of the goose neck and not taking up space in the truck is apealing. Not to mention being a single senior citzen female not having to deal with removing the 5th wheel for the hrose trailer is very appealing. So what is your recommendation. Without giving up to much. There were a couple terms regarding hitch type that the goose neck application does not work and I do not understand them.

Since you have a flat bed truck it's most likely going to be much easier to go with a gooseneck type attachment like you mentioned. It sounds like you already have this type of hitch in the bed of your truck too since you are already towing a horse trailer. The best solution you'll have is a Reese Goose Box # RP94716-61301 which will replace your pin box and give you a cushioned gooseneck hitch from previous customers we know this Goose Box is the correct fit for your trailer. Unlike other similar adapters this is the only one that won't void your trailer warranty too. The cushioning in this is far superior other similar setups too as it's an air bag setup.

This will also make for a much easier connection than using a fifth wheel hitch like you mentioned. There would be no heavy hitch to install and remove.
