Can Bike Frame Adapter Bar be Used to Secure Heavy E-Bike on a Platform Bike Rack

The specs say the weight limit for this adapter is 35 lbs. Im thinking of using it on my wifes 60 lb e-bike to carry on a hitch carrier. OK? or not OK?

If you were to use this with the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HLY84FR that you referenced then yes, you can use the Bike Frame Adapter Bar # 64005 so that the hook has a place to secure the bike because the bar won't be load bearing. Typically the adapter bars are used for hanging style bike racks so all of the weight of the bike will be resting on the bar (see attached photo).

We do carry the Yakima HoldUp # Y02443 which you could use instead of the Sport Rider SE provided that neither of your bikes has a front fender. The HoldUp is still at the same price point as the Sport Rider SE, it can carry up to two 60 lb bikes, and can accommodate bike tire widths up to 2-1/2". The best part is that the adapter bar isn't needed because this secures the bikes by the wheels instead of using a hook. I have attached a review video for you to check out.
