Available Lengths and Diameters of Cable Locks
Question:
Best cable to lock my generator to my camper axle

We have cable locks in various lengths and diameters. We have the 10-foot Deadbolt # e98891 that you referenced which has a 5/16-inch cable, the 15-foot Master Lock cable (padlock not included) # 72DPF which has a 3/8-inch diameter cable and the Master Lock Quantum Self-Coiling, Combination Cable Lock - 1/2" Diameter # 8122D which is 6-feet long. You can see all our able locks on the linked page.
I recommend you use the heaviest cable that is long enough to reach between your generator's frame (or whatever attachment point you use for the cable) and the axle where you want to secure it.
Any lock's theft deterrent value is best when it is clearly visible. A would-be thief tends to move on to an easier target when it is clear that the item has been secured. Sometimes multiple locks that are in plain sight can be the best way to discourage a thief.
