Can I Use a Roof Cargo Bag With the Sunroof on a 2012 Toyota Sienna
Question:
We have a 2012 Toyota Sienna minivan. It has a second sunroof about the second row seats. Can I use cross bars attached to siderails when using cargo bag so it doesn’t rest on sunroof. I don’t want to use a basket

Expert Reply:
I do have an option for you but none of the roof cargo bags are designed to sit atop the crossbars but rather the roof and then secure to the crossbars. Therefore, a roof cargo bag would not work for you without first installing a cargo basket to keep it from resting on the glass roof. Since you don't want to install a cargo basket to support the roof bag your only option would be to use the Rightline Gear Cargo Hatch Saddlebag part # RL100B90 which secures itself to the raised side rails then rests on the rear hatch. This will also likely be the most cost effective option we have for you to add extra cargo space to your Sienna.
