Question:
Do you recommend a 1.25 or 2inch hitch for a bike rack? And, which size hitch is less noticeable? Thank you

We always recommend using a trailer hitch with a 2" receiver over the 1-1/4" size because they have higher weight ratings and because you can use a wider variety of bike racks. Technically since the 1-1/4" is smaller it will be less noticeable but realistically there isn't that big of a visual difference between the 2 sizes. I recommend using the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch # C13130 for your 2016 Acura RDX which gives you that 2" receiver plus it installs in such a way that only the receiver portion is visible for a great, clean look (see attached photo). I have also attached an installation video of this trailer hitch on a 2017 RDX for you to reference.
Then if you don't already have a bike rack I recommend the Yakima FullSwing # Y02465 because it not only has a swinging arm to give you unrestricted rear hatch access while your bikes are still loaded, but it also has adjustable cradles that slide along the arms and lock into place so that you can accommodate a wide variety of bike frame styles.
This rack also uses integrated bike and rack locks plus a tool free installation that makes the rack more user-friendly. Please note that for any bikes that don't have a horizontal top tube you will need the Adapter Bar # Y02531 to help keep the bike level and increase ground clearance. I also recommend using the tie-down # SR54FR for each bike to keep the front wheel from moving during travel.
Attached is a review video of the FullSwing that you can check out.
