Base Rails for 2015 Ford F-150 With 5 Foot 6 Inch Bed to Tow Fifth Wheel Trailer

So I have a 2015 f-150 with a 5'6 inch box. And I have a demco hijacker ul 16k double swivel plate. Im wondering what the best option is for frame brackets and rails. Also when installing am I able to to drill through the box mounts.

The best option for base rails for your 2015 Ford F-150 is a custom install kit, the Reese Quick-Install Custom Outboard Installation Kit w/ Base Rails # RP56034-53 because it does not require any drilling into your truck's frame to install; a universal kit such as the Reese Semi-Custom Base Rail and Installation Kit # RP30035-31 does require drilling. I have added a link to a video of the custom kit being installed on a F-150 for you to check out.

This will allow you to use the Demco Hijacker # DM6076P-UL-16K although you will not be able to tow a fifth-wheel trailer with the 5'6" bed on your '15 F-150 without the use of a Sidewinder because you will not have enough turning clearance, resulting in your trailer smashing into your truck cab; you are also going to need to keep your hitch locked in the forward towing position.

A Sidewinder will replace the pin box on your trailer; to find the correct Sidewinder what you will need to know is the manufacturer and model number of the pin box on your fifth wheel and match that with the correct replacement. For example, Sidewinder # RP34FR will replace Lippert 0719, 1621 and 1621HD, as well as Fabex PB 600 Series (68200) pin boxes. If you let me know the manufacturer and model number of your pin box I can find the correct Sidewinder for you.

I have added a link to our entire selection of Sidewinders for you to take a look at as well as a help article on Sidewinders I highly recommend reading.
