Question:
I noticed Malone has a kayak padding block. Would you recommend these to go along with the top tier load bar kit? Im looking to get a 5x8 utility trailer and would like to have two 13foot kayaks on top. Im also planning to have the load bars cut down a bit so its not so high to load the kayaks. Let me know your thoughts. Also wondering about how long it takes to install/remove this rack after a little practice.

If you want to use foam blocks to secure your kayaks to the Malone TopTier Load Bar Kit # MPG493 then I recommend using the Malone Stax Pro2 Kayak Carrier # MPG115MD which comes with foam blocks plus an upright for a quick and easy way to strap your kayaks down.
You should be able to cut down the uprights to a different size if you like but you need to make sure they are all the exact same height. Malone doesn't have a set install/removal time but it shouldn't take too long if you leave the plates installed on your trailer. With this being the case it is simply a matter of removing some nuts and the U-Bolts as you can see in the attached installation instructions.
