Tips for Putting a Hose on the Hose Barbs on a Derale Combination Transmission and Oil Cooler

How do you get the hoses to fit over the inlet barbs?

Expert Reply:

In order to work the hose onto the inlet barbs in the Derale Combination Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler, # D15902, it helps if you use a little transmission fluid (if it is the transmission line) or oil (if it is the oil line) around the inside of the hose and on the inlet. This will lubricate it some and then it is just a matter of a little muscle to wiggle the hose on.

I have included a link to a video showing a transmission cooler installation. At the 3:24 mark of the video, our installer mentions putting fluid in the hose to make it easier to put on.
