Can Leaf Springs be Moved to Top of Underslung Axle

My boat currently has axles with v bends in the middle in order to provide clearance for the boat hull. Would it be possible to use this product with leaf springs mounted on the top of the axle as a replacement for v bent axle? Conceptually this would lower the axle shaft for boat clearance and keep the trailer near the current height currently leaf springs are this scenario, if possible Id like to mount the leaf springs to the top of the axle. Thoughts? Opinions?

You can absolutely use the underslung Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with 4" Drop E-Z Lube Spindles - 95" Long - 3,500 lbs # 7685269 with leaf springs mounted to the top of the axle.

In order to do this you will simply need the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-384-00 which will work so long as you are using double-eye springs, and fit the 2-3/8" Dexter Trailer Axle Beam # 7685269. The Over/Under kit will lift it approximately the same amount as your axle's diameter plus the height of the leaf spring pack.

If you take a look at the accompanying photos you can see this kit being used on an underslung axle exactly like the one you referenced.

I have added a link to a video review as well as a link to the installation instructions of the Over-Under kit for you to check out.
