Is Air Brake Antifreeze Needed for the Firestone Air Command F3 On A 2019 GMC Sierra 1500
Question:
I am getting ready to have the ride rite system installed. From what I can tell the Gunk brand shown is no longer manufactured. Is there another air brake antifreeze that is compatible?

Expert Reply:
The use of air brake antifreeze would not be necessary nor is it recommended by Firestone when installing an airbag system such as the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F2609 with the Air Command F3 Compressor System part # F2581 on your 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 because there is such a little amount of air being moved that moisture buildup is not an issue. There is however a filter on the air compressor that will work to prevent this.
There are several other brands of air brake antifreeze available such as CRC but this is not recommended by the manufacturer so you would be using this at your own risk.
