I have a Ram 1500 2015 Quad cab, 6.5foot bed. Is there a similar rack I could use that is shorter than the 29inch uprights? Something around the 26-27inch range? Thank you.

To get the same 800 pound capacity I recommend the Thule TracRac TracONE Ladder Rack # TH27000XT. This rack uses 26-1/4 inch tall uprights and also features an aluminum construction with included load stops. Unlike the Erickson you were looking at this particular unit is made right here in the USA.
