Question:
Hi, I have a 2011 BMW 335is convertible and just got a 2inch stealth hitch installed. Maybe I didnt think it through as it looks very low to the ground. To the inside top of the 2inch hitch is about 10. See photo attached. Im concerned with overall ground clearance and the platform scraping the ground and being damaged. A secondary concern is how close it is when folded up as it may interfere with the convertible mechanism. Less of an issue though as I can lower the platform before lowering / raising the platform. Thanks!

While 10 inches of clearance from the top of a hitch tube down to the ground isn't a lot by any means it's also not an unheard of amount of ground clearance. There are several vehicles that have similar clearances without issue. That said, we don't have a hitch that fits your vehicle and I suspect part of the reason is the convertible mechanisms and the low clearance which you've mentioned as well. The rack that would give you the best ground clearance and bike wheel protection would be the Saris Freedom part # SA4414B. This rack has an angled shank that angles up soon after the shank exits the hitch opening. The bikes are also loaded higher and higher as you get further away from the back of the vehicle, whereas the other racks don't have that feature.
