Plug and Play Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2008 VW Passat 4Motion Wagon with Park Sensors

Hello, Can you help me determine what components I need to wire up my 2008 VW Passat Wagon 4Motion with Park Sensors? Some online stores are trying to sell me a $300 harness kit! Im not interested in all the fancy tricks and whatnot. Just need turn signals, brake lights, and tail lights to a 4-pin light weight trailer. I found a forum which basically says its possible with the referenced module, and that the Curt 56200 will work also.

Good news! We now carry a wiring harness that has been verified to work on your 2008 VW Passat Wagon with 4Motion and park sensors. The Tow Ready Custom Fit Wiring, # 118530, will provide a no-frills 4-pole flat trailer connector for your vehicle, and easily installs with plug and play connectors. The only splicing required is for running the power wire for the converter to the vehicle battery, see instructions link.

It is possible that the forum you found has the correct information for installing a 4-Way wiring harness on your 2008 VW Passat Wagon with 4Motion and park sensors. The # 11919KIT wiring harness that you referenced is a very versatile wiring harness and will work on many different wiring configurations. You would need to use a circuit tester and verify each connection carefully before using the harness, to avoid damage to the converter or vehicle wiring.

The Curt 56200 would not be recommended for your vehicle and has been discontinued.

Because the T-One plug and play harness # 118530 does not require testing and splicing, and not priced completely out of the range of the splice in harnesses, I recommend going with the T-One harness.
