Question:
Can I use these on my Malone extra light trailer to use for two Hobie kayaks. Having trouble with 58 in bars for Hobie cradles

I contacted Malone and the Malone XtraLight Trailer (MPG525) is not compatible with Crossbars for Malone MicroSport Trailers - 78" Long part # MPG4001. The only trailer that can use the longer cross bars is the Malone Microsport trailers that came with 65" standard load bars.
The bars on the XtraLight Trailer are almost 5 feet and I know Hobies can be over 2 feet wide so If you are trying to carry the Hobies flat and side by side they may not fit especially with the W style Hobie cradle. I highly recommend using a J-style cradle Malone J-Pro2 part # MPG117MD if you do not already have them. These have a weight capacity of 75 lbs so you would want to make sure the Hobie is not heavier than 75 lbs. You can also use Rhino Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier part # S510 that have a weight capacity of 99 lbs, if you need more capacity. The J-style cradles will allow you to carry the Hobies on their sides.
