Replacing 7-Way Connector on Vehicle that Uses Non-Standard Trailer Wiring Colors

Question:

I have a green, purple,white, blue, yellow, and orange coming from the factory wiring on my work van. My pigtail has a light green, dark green, yellow, blue,red with black stripe,brown and white wire. what do I connect to which wires on the van?!? Thanks

Sounds like you are trying to replace a 7-way trailer wiring connector on a vehicle and the vehicle has non-standard wire colors as well as the new wiring harness. Best option will be to test the wires on the vehicle with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to determine their function and then wire accordingly to the connector.

I attached a diagram that shows how a 7-way normally wires up as well. You'll use this to wire the vehicle wires to once they have been identified.
