Choosing the Right Ball Mount for 2019 F250 Super Duty Crew Cab

I have a 2019 F250 SD Crew Cab I was wondering what is needed for this vehicle I am assuming the best option would be the 8inch vs. the 6inch but looking for an opinion.

Adjustable ball mounts like the Weigh Safe # WS6-25 and # WS8-25 provide great flexibility to tow multiple trailers of differing heights.

A good starting place is to determine the deepest drop you'll need. The attached diagram and help article can help a great deal in completing this. This is done by measuring from the ground up to the top of the hitch receiver opening for hitch height. To measure coupler height, measure from the ground to the bottom of the trailer's coupler. Subtract the coupler height from the hitch height to find the drop. This is your determining factor for how much drop you need and which adjustable hitch to choose. If you don't have a specific trailer measure, 17" is a good rule of thumb.

I recommend going with the 8" ball mount, # WS8-25 that is more versatile to handle a lower trailer should you need it in the future. If you don't need more than 6 inches of drop in the future, then it's not necessary. Plus if you go with the 8 inch you do lose ground clearance, running the risk of ground contact.
