Will Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution Bars Come Off Cams When Turning

Question:

because of the way the bar sits freely on the cams, im curious and worry if I do a slow sharp turn, will 1 of the sway bar run out of length and come off the cam?

This is a common concern, but bars of the Strait-Line Weight Distribution w Sway Control # RP66074 will not come off the cams. The only way this would really happen is if the system is not appropriately installed. Essentially if you only install the lift brackets with the set screw this can happen, but if you use the additional bolt as outlined in the linked installation instructions you won't have an issue.

While it is theoretically possible the bars can come off in an extraordinarily tight turn, under any type of normal circumstances with the system properly set up, the bars are not going to come off the Strait-Line system. So it is theoretically possible but realistically it is not a problem that will be encountered, save for an improperly set up system.
