Highest Weight Capacity 3 Inch Gooseneck Hitch Ball

So the hitch rated at 40,000 lbs but the 3 inch ball that etrailer recommends rated at 30,000lbs. Will the ball hold up to the 40,000 lbs towing weight? My trailer and items that i am going to carry will come close to 40k so i want to make sure the rated difference is not a problem.

The Gooseneck Coupler Head with Pin, 3" Ball # WF2 does have a 40,000 lb capacity, though I checked and was unable to find any reference to a recommended hitch ball to use with this coupler head. That said, the highest rated 3" gooseneck hitch ball we offer is 30,000 lbs such as the B&W 3" Hitch Ball - 2" Diameter x 3-1/4" Long Shank - Raw - 30,000 lbs # BWHB94008.

This is not a ball that can be used for a 40,000 lb capacity; when you are towing the capacity is going to be based on the component with the lowest rating. So if it is the 30,000 lb hitch ball your maximum capacity would be 30,000 lbs.
